The full training program includes numerous additional modules that build systematically on one another and guide you step by step through the requirements of technical diving.
In this preview, you’ll gain insight into the initial theoretical content. All additional learning modules, quizzes, and course materials are available to you in the full i.a.c. TEC Basic course on the i.a.c. e-Academy.
This sample chapter introduces you to the fundamentals upon which the rest of the training is built. In the full TEC Basic course, you will learn, among other things:
- how to apply fundamental safety concepts in technical diving
- how to identify problems early on and resolve them in a controlled manner
- to implement standardized procedures as part of a team
- to safely carry out stationary problem solving procedures
- how to improve your diving technique in a sustainable way through structured exercises
The following prerequisites apply for participation in the practical training of the full TEC Basic course:
- Minimum age of 16
- Proof of medical fitness to dive, not older than 2 years
- Proof of i.a.c. Advanced Open Water Diver and i.a.c. Nitrox Basic or equivalent certification
- Dive log showing at least 25 dives
- For minors, a written consent form from a parent or legal guardian is required
